These are some of the Acts that England placed on America. These were key contributors to the American Revolution.
April 5, 1764 - The Sugar Act - Colonial merchants had been required to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses
March 22, 1765 - The Stamp Act - Legal documents had to be stamped
May 3, 1765 - Quartering Act - Troops could only be quartered in barracks but if there wasn't enough space in barracks then they could be quartered or stay in public houses and inns.
1776 - Declaratory Act - It repealed the Stamp Act. It said that the British Parliament's taxing authority was the same in America as in Great Britain.
1767 - Townshend Act - Stated that Britain could collect revenue from the people America by putting a tax on imports of glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea.
